What AI voice work actually involves

AI companies need enormous amounts of recorded human speech to build text-to-speech engines, conversational assistants and cloned voices. That speech has to come from real people - and the good companies want it recorded properly, with rights they can prove.

That is where you come in. Typical projects we recruit for:

TTS corpus recording - reading scripted lines, consistently, across long paid sessions. The backbone of every synthetic voice.
Voice cloning with consent - lending your actual voice identity to a product, under a licence that names where it can appear and for how long.
Conversational and character voices - expressive recording for AI assistants, games and interactive products.
Multilingual and accent datasets - natural speakers of specific languages, dialects and regional accents. Often no voiceover experience needed.

Is getting paid to record your voice for AI legit?

It can be, and it is easy to check. A legitimate project tells you the client, what the recordings are for, how long the licence runs and what you will be paid, before you record anything. It never asks you to pay to join. If any of those are missing, walk away. Our standards are on the ethics and consent page.

How much do you get paid to record your voice for AI?

Can I record from home?

Often, yes. Some projects run as remote sessions with a producer on a call, some accept a decent home setup, and some are recorded at our UK studios. See the home studio requirements.

Do I need experience or a demo reel?

No. Many projects want natural, everyday speech rather than a trained voiceover performance, and a short voice note is enough to apply. Start with voice over jobs for beginners.
